Franziska: Hi there and welcome back! Today, I wanted to quickly talk to you a little bit about legacy.

I think that not enough businesses and business owners think about the legacy that they want to leave behind. It‘s something that when you have clarity on your legacy than the decisions that you are going to make, decisions that are coming up for you will be a lot easier to make because they will be in line with the legacy that you want to leave behind.

Now, what is legacy? Legacy, if you look at the definition, it‘s really something that is passed down by ancestors or by you, if it‘s a business. It‘s something that is passed down by you to your organization and to also the people that you are impacting, so your products or services.

It‘s really good to know this. So ask yourself, how do you want to be remembered? Ask yourself the question that, in say 10 years from now, what do you want people to say about you and your business? When you have that clarity, then the decisions that you need to make in the tougher decisions will be more in line with the impact that you want to leave. You know you can even go one step further. You can even say, “hey, you know what, I‘m going to write my eulogy.” I actually did that. I know, it sounds a little bit morbid. But I did, because I wanted to have the clarity on what do I want to leave behind. What is my legacy, what do I want people to say? You know what, you can even write your eulogy and give it to your best friends and just tell them, “hey, this is what I want you to say.” Okay, maybe not. That‘s too far. That‘s going too far. But just have the clarity on what is the legacy you want to leave behind so that you can then take the right actions in your business and in your life to be remembered for what you wanted to be remembered for.
