In this week‘s episode, our co-founder, Franziska Iseli, shares how we go about “picking a theme” for the year. (SPOILER ALERT: this may require adding more fairy dust!)

Franziska: Hi there, and welcome back! We just finished our very first all-company meeting with all our team for 2021. And one thing we did in this session is we talked quickly about our theme for this year. And I thought I’d share this with you right now how we go about it because it might be really helpful for you too. So one thing we do every year at Basic Bananas, and every business that we are involved in, is we pick a theme for the year. And the purpose of doing something like that is to have focus and to really use something that can keep you on track to achieving what you set out to achieve this year. And how you can achieve a theme or select a theme for your own business is a great way to go about it is to go through your plans that you may or may not already have put together, there’s a video that I shared with you about three or so weeks ago. So we’ll have that link to that video, where I show you exactly how to create your plans. So go through your plants, and then see if you can see any commonalities, and also look for priority. So what is sort of the overarching topic for your year ahead. And that for us this year, I’ll share with you what our theme is, we actually picked two, normally, we just pick one. And the two that we’ve picked is relationships and global expansion. Now the first one is relationships. What that means for us is that we want to deepen all of our relationships with our members, with our Clever Bunch members, with our Genius Bunch members. And how we do that is through more – when we can again, more gatherings, small entrepreneurial adventures, and having our expert team, our marketers, support people even more. And also what it means is deepening our relationships with our global partners. And also for our branding agency. For example, it’s all about relationships. In our branding agency, we get a lot of bigger contracts, because of our relationships with people that we have nurtured. And the team is really good at it, Julia’s really good at it. And also just adding more fairy dust to everything we do. So just adding more, more sparkles to every communication that we send out that we have, and making sure every single video like this video, is adding value. The second thing that we’ve picked is global expansion. And this has come out of last year, because last year, because of the pandemic, we were forced, and this is the silver lining, we were forced to make sure that all of our programs, the Clever Bunch, and the Genius Bunch are available virtually, rather than only in person. Because we couldn’t do it in-person for a long time. Even now, still, it’s very uncertain. And so we’ve put the whole program online, but still in a very interactive and, and how you call it – engaging way. So we still meet face-to-face in~, not face-to-face in a virtual world. But we still meet live – live was the word that I was searching for. And so because we’ve managed to do that, and people are getting almost even more amazing results because they’re so focused, when we meet, and we are productive when we get together. So what we have decided to do, because of that now we have attracted businesses from all around the world, not just in the cities where we are located. And that’s obviously, it’s helping us now to decide, okay, so this year, let’s focus on more global expansion. So that’s the second theme. So have a think for your own business, what is your theme and share it with your team and have it maybe written somewhere so you have super focus, you can even do this per quarter. You can even have a theme per quarter. We do that sometimes, two a year, and it’s just the whole company knows, or if you are the only person in the company. You know this is my focus. So what do I need to do this week to build deeper relationships to get more, to help more people to deepen those relationships? For example, what do I need to do this week to grow more globally? Make sense? So I keep super focused. I love this. I’ve been practicing this also in my personal life. And same for my personal life and my personal one is to create; creating more art, music. There’s another business in the pipeline, too. So pick one for your personal life and then pick one also for your businesses. And I hope this is super helpful. If it is, make sure that you Subscribe also to our channel here on YouTube. And feel free to share this with anyone that runs a business that or, yeah, runs a business and you know that they would really benefit from this. So thanks again for being here. Till next time!
