Christo: Hi there and welcome to Basic Bananas TV. Today, I’m going to share with you, a way to make your social media more interesting and also, make it easier for you to come up with different content for social media. If you find yourself posting or having to post from your business and posting the same things over and over and over or getting very little engagement from your social media posts. It’s likely you’re posting too much of the same so what we do with social media as we work with businesses in more depth is, we create what we call content buckets. So, different buckets are basically like themes so different themes that you post within. So for example, let’s just say if you owned a pizza shop and you post pizza every single day- it’s going to get pretty boring. You know you’ve got 12 pizzas on the menu and you’re posting different same 12 pizzas or whatever. Instead, you could have one bucket which is pizzas a different bucket could be, our team behind the scenes. And it could be things like – a team member fit sharing their favourite part of the job. Or something they do outside of the job like a personal interest, a passion or something where they share. That a different content bucket could be the history of pizzas, or there could be a bucket which is something like the craziest pizzas ever made you know, and you get the idea. So what you’re starting to do is and one one content bucket could be great places to travel in Italy you know where pizzas came from. So it’s like, you’ve got these different themes suddenly that you work within and that way, you you post a variety from the different buckets if the social media is getting very little engagement it’s likely you’re just sticking to one theme without realizing it’s like you’re always doing before and after photos or something like that or your kind of job like images and that’s it here’s us on this job doing this instead of doing it doing these other things social media is social you know people want a bit of interaction and they love to see the behind the scenes you might be a consultant and your behind the scenes might be a photo of you working on a project or scribbling up plans for a customer and then you share that here I am working on a behind the scenes you know a project for a customer whatever so you get the idea these different themes make it more interesting and then you could do a post from each bucket each thing in each theme and then you basically start over again and then the next you know you do one week of this one week of that one look at that and you mix it up or you might even sometimes do a month where you theme it a certain theme to keep things interesting. Uh like us, ourselves at Basic Bananas – we provide marketing mentoring to help people grow their businesses and get more customers. However sometimes, we might do a leadership month where we’ll actually also theme a month and we’ll go this month, we’re going to focus on leadership tips because they’re of interest to our market even though we don’t offer that. You know, we’re not like a leadership business consultancy- we’re a marketing you know consultant you get the idea but it makes it interesting and keeps variety and that’s what we call the content buckets. So my advice is – make at least five different content buckets that you can work within. So, you’ve got a good variety of things that you can then post on your social media platforms. Cool. If you’ve enjoyed this tip, please go ahead and share it with anyone else you know that does social media for their business. So you can help them out as well.
