Christo: Hi there! Welcome back to Basic Bananas TV. A common question that we get is “do you know someone that can just do the marketing for me?” Everyone, like a very common, “I don’t want to do it myself, I just want someone else to do it.” Now what happens is eventually two businesses often come back to us and say, “I tried spending money on this person and that person and now what do I do?” The way we structure things here at Basic Bananas and the reason we are different is our Clever Bunch program—the way it works is by becoming an extension of your team, basically an extension of your business to show you how to do marketing. Now, the lesson in this and the reason I just want to share this is often people say “Oh do you know a Google Ads expert or someone in terms that can do SEO for me or someone that can do my social media?” It can be anything to do with marketing. Because most people get into business not because they want to do marketing just because you’re qualified in something or you see an opportunity for something or you’re skilled and there’s a passion or something not because you want to be great at marketing. Now the reality is those that do the best in business tend to be the best marketers because it doesn’t matter how good your product or service is if no one knows about it, right? The way we work so you’re not forking out money to someone else to do part of your marketing usually experts in marketing are really good at one or one or two bits you know like you might pay someone to do your Google Ads for you but if you don’t have everything else in place it’s not likely you’ll see a great return from your Google Ads no matter how good they are, just as one example. So the way we work in the Clever Bunch is we become like an extension of your marketing team to help you and guide you through growing your brand and getting more customers through a lot of different marketing strategies that we help you implement. Now the way then we move it off your plate is as you’re across it and you understand how to do the marketing strategies and we’ve worked out what’s working with you then we look for ways to~ okay now how do you outsource these parts that you don’t want to do anymore without paying a fortune to have some expert doing it. Two ways we like to do that if you want to be really cost efficient: one there are contractors who do little parts and pieces to the work where you’re not paying for some you know like a high-rise office in Sydney or something like that but an expert that might just do part of it because when you’re in this industry obviously we have a lot of contacts where we might go here you can outsource that part of it instead of spending maybe two thousand dollars per month for search engine optimization work you can spend eighty dollars to have an expert do one part of it and you’ll take it’ll take an extra half an hour of your time per month you know so we’re basically finding leveraged ways to get the things done and then an alternative another way we like to work with you is you get a team member internally and as you’re across the strategy then you start moving them to the team member but you need to know them first so that you know how to help them, how to guide them, how to review what they’re doing, and if they leave it’s not the end of the world because you’re across it and you still have to pay attention to the numbers. It’s your money that’s being spent basically and their time is your money as well so this is the way we like to do it to bring the power into your control and then as you know, a lot of businesses we work with they then employ someone that starts looking after the marketing then that employee gets other assistants to start helping them with the marketing because as the business grows it’s making more money now and as they do more and more marketing well then it grows even more and more so there’s more money to grow the team and that’s how we like to work you know really cool ways helping an internal team member get three assistants reporting to them and then you’ve got this really powerful marketing team but as the owner, you’re still across what they’re doing.
