Franziska: Hi, and welcome back. I just finished a keynote here on the topic of attraction and retention of amazing team members of A-players; very important topic. Especially again, in this world we really need to invest in our culture and as part of the keynote, I had a book recommendation that I would love to share with you here. And the book is called Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates us, written by Daniel pink. And it’s a great book and the reason why I like to share it is because in one of the research that he did a few years back, is he researched to understand what motivates us as humans. This is something that is really important to understand when it comes to building your team. When it comes to attracting team members, we need to understand what motivates people. And the good news is that it’s not about money. In fact, as long as you are competitive in your salary, and you’re fair, what it comes down, to is three key things and I’d like to share this with you now. One of them~ the first one is Autonomy. So people like, to be in control of their life, of their work. So how you can apply this in your business is to give people responsibility and not to micromanage them. And one major thing also, what you can do and we do this here also at Basic Bananas, and with our Clever Bunch members, is let your team members set their own goals, so let them drive their targets. Of course, you have input. And you look over it with them. But instead of just dictating the targets, and giving them their set goals, let them come up with them. Number two is Mastery. This is one of our biggest, also psychological needs as a human being, in the first world, is we want to evolve, we want to… to improve. We want to learn new skills. We want to expand our abilities. So how you can do this in your business, and how you can fulfill this need is by offering opportunities for growth and maybe even putting in place, a bit of a plan for development for your team members or having a budget for programs, for courses, we have this here at Basic Bananas, whenever our team members want to learn something new, and they want to buy a course. We will pay for them. Whether that is a copywriting course or an advertising course, whatever. they want to learn at any level in the business, we will support them in that. And number three is Purpose. People have this need to be part of something bigger than themselves and it’s why people belong to organisations. and associations, and you in your business, you can also facilitate that. You can make people feel like they’re part of a bigger cause. And you do this by having a clear purpose in your business. And I’ve talked about this a lot, especially as part of your brand strategy. So having a clear purpose and communicating that purpose will be helpful for people to feel like we’re part of something bigger here. So those were the three things I wanted to share with you from the book, Drive and also highly recommend checking it out. And as always, thank you so much for being here. Thank you for tuning in.
