Franziska: Hi, and welcome back. You made it back to part two hopefully.
Christo: Hello Banana People, welcome back.
Franziska: We are the Banana People.
Christo: Oh, hello from the Banana People. Welcome back.
Franziska: What we did in the previous video is we shared with you what makes a really good testimonial from someone. In this video we want to share with you how to actually ask someone. How do you get a good testimonial and we’ve got a really good formula I think you’ll want to hear.
Christo: Yes, we’ve got a cool formula. Basically you can ask people, if you watch the previous tip, if you haven’t you should go back and watch it. There’s certain ingredients, certain things we want to highlight through testimonials. The way that we can get a really good testimonial is by you ask four questions, or you could ask someone, “Hey, just complete these, we’d love a bit of feedback on our service, could you complete these four questions?”
First question is: Why would you be unsure about working with someone in our industry? Why would you be unsure about working with us? This will flush out any objections that they had, we’re not fearing considering working with you.
Second question is: What made you decide to work with us?
Third question is: What specific benefits have you seen as a result of working with us or buying our product? What would you specifically love about buying from us?
Fourth one is: Who would you recommend us to?
You’re going to end up with a testimonial that will sound something like, “Wasn’t sure about working with the guys because of blah blah blah blah blah. I decided to because I saw my friend [inaudible 00:01:26], my friend looking cool with his sunglasses, and I specifically loved how quick they were with the service, how innovative they are, or how they’ve changed this for my business, or this result for me. I would recommend this to someone else.” You end up with a really good structure.
You could simple message them back and say, “Hey, is it cool with you if we can use this as a bit of our testimonial and so on?” Just pluck out the questions and you’ve got all the really good feedback.
Franziska: It’s such a great little formal … The other thing is you can ask them usually when they’re the happiest. When they are really stoked that you’ve just done some work with them or they’ve just used your product or services, and they’re really happy.
Here’s one last little tip. You can actually do your testimonials in different formats. It could be either in written, or some people don’t want to ride for you. Maybe you’re just with them and you say, “Hey, could I maybe just quickly record your voice from you?” That’s easy, they can just talk it. You could even film it, so you can stick a camera in front of their face.
Christo: Stick a camera in their face.
Franziska: We sat in the studio here, and, you know, it depends on the person. If they want to video, audio, or written. Sometimes you can just do the audio and then you can write it if some people don’t want to actually-
Christo: Also, it’s a very good tip, just record them and then just write it out. You should consider where the testimonials go because you should have specific testimonials for specific products. If you’ve got a page which sells group meditation classes, you should have testimonials specifically for group meditation classes on that page. Then if you have one to one meditation classes, or whatever your product is, it might be accounting or products or anything, all the different products, testimonials specifically for that product on that product page. On your website or in that brochure, wherever you’re talking about a certain product, specific testimonials about that product right there.
