Franziska: Hi there and welcome back! I promised you a quick video on all the reasons why you don’t need to panic about the latest iOS changes. And I’m sure you have heard someone talk about these changes and how it’s going to ruin everything and how business is going to go down the drain because of these iOS changes. And there has been a lot of fear and you don’t need to panic. There’s a lot of fear being used just to get customers and the thing is that changes will always happen. I mean life is all about change and changes will always happen on these platforms when we use tech software. It’s inevitable what we can do though about these things is to have systems in place that help us to minimize the damage that some of these changes may create in a business and so what I’d like to share with you now is five (5) things quickly to think about when it comes to these changes. So the changes I’m talking about are the iOS upgrades that have happened for Apple users, Apple products users. You can now opt-out of giving your data to platforms like Facebook which can have an impact on your advertising campaigns, how much information Facebook will have which will have an impact on who you can target in terms of look-alike audiences, re-targeting audiences, etc. So that’s where the big sort of fear has come from. The five things you can do right now is number one (1)- if you do use Facebook and Instagram advertising and you log into the back end of the platform- it will give you a few things that you can do straight away to help already. One is to verify your website, another one is to rank conversion events in the backend, just go into the system it will show you how to do it and because obviously, Facebook wants you to be successful. So they’re trying everything that they can to make this still work for you. Number two (2) is and this is something that is relevant always for these changes that just happen now for future changes that will happen on other platforms and devices is to move as much traffic as much of your audience off these third-party platforms and devices and into your own ecosystem. That’s why we talk a lot about ecosystems and you owning your own ecosystem with the data of your customers’ prospects, future customers, past customers. You want to own as much data as you possibly can in your own ecosystem. We talk a lot about how to build an ecosystem at the Blast Off Marketing workshop. So, if you want to join us at that session you’re welcome to do it. It’s a free two (2) -hour session. So point here is now- point number two is move people off these platforms into your own so that you then can nurture these relationships. Number three (3) is to diversify your marketing. So don’t purely rely on only one channel such as Facebook or Instagram. Make sure you have a diversified marketing strategy where you use different channels to get people to discover your business so when one of these channels doesn’t work so much anymore, you still have other platforms that bring in the leads that you need. Number four (4) – when it comes to looking at your data, your marketing data, don’t only rely on one source. So don’t only rely on Facebook also include other data, points data sources, such as Google Analytics. Your own CRM, other platforms that you may be using like LinkedIn. So don’t only rely on one source of information. Use different sources to understand what’s going on and who your customers are. And the last one is- just keep an eye out for software updates on some of the software that you’re currently using. For example, the crm that we’re using – Ontraport, they have already done an integration to help feedback information from the database back into Facebook so that it can help you to increase your conversion results. Again, it’s called Facebook Conversion API and a lot of the software out there, a lot of the crms- they’re already integrating again. They want you to be successful. So yes these changes have changed a bit of the landscape and have maybe impacted some businesses more heavily than others. But all the platforms that you’re using the different tools and tech pieces that you’re using, they want you to be successful. So, they’re trying to integrate as much as possible to feed data back into the place where you need it most. So those are five quick things that I wanted to share with you. Just really because I don’t want you to panic or go panic by something you don’t need. If you do these five things, you’ll be okay- you’ll be okay. We’ve only seen a small impact here on our own advertising campaigns. And that says a lot, so don’t panic. Follow these five things and share this video also with anyone. If you hear anyone panic about these changes and maybe feeling a bit uncertain. Feel free to share this video with them too and hopefully this helps a little bit. .Thanks again for tuning in and I will see you next time. Bye for now.
