Time seems to fly when you are having too much fun! How can it be the 22nd of August already? Today is Christo‘s birthday and we are only working a couple of hours and taking the rest of the day off to celebrate. We‘ve already had a birthday surf and then too many delicious treats from a cute little French bakery for breakfast. I‘ve always thought that Swiss bread is the best in the world, but I might have been wrong! I‘m blown away by the delicious bread and treats here in France!
We absolutely loved spending time in Spain as well, such a beautiful country with so many unique corners. Galicia up in the North was amazing! Very lush and incredible beaches. The water was crystal clear just like in Australia (except that it was freezing cold!).
Santiago de Compostela in Galicia is another historic, beautiful city famous for its cathedral and the old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
People roaming the streets at all hours of the day celebrating summer, little tapas bars decorating the tiny streets and its visitors enjoying the different tapas with a glass of delicious Spanish wine.
Galletas de Almendras, crunchy almond cookies (a speciality of Galicia) were being sold in little delicatessen shops in the old town. One of the shops had a fabulous strategy to get people into their shop, I was quite impressed with their very natural marketing skills. Two gorgeous Spanish ladies were standing outside the door in the tiny little alleyway handing out free cookies to passers-by. Once you‘ve tasted the cookie (which were irresistible), one of the senoritas would invite you into the shop to try another specialty. How can you say no to this lovely lady with the biggest smile. And once you are in the shop, you just can‘t resist buying some of their delicious specialties.
It‘s the power of free in action! Give something of value away for free to get people interested and if you are a great match and they like your stuff, they might become your customers.
That‘s it for today, off to eat some birthday crepes!
