Franziska: Hi and welcome back!
Today, I wanted to share something with you that I noticed as we just came back from the desert. We were recording our first album for our band Salty Lips. I was playing the saxophone and the keyboard. Now the keyboard, I‘m okay but I‘m not super pro. So when I was recording the keyboard, I noticed that sometimes I really had to just stay with it and focus to keep going because it was a little bit challenging. So also every night after we finish the recording, I would still practice the keyboard lines and I was really playing the base lines on the keyboard. So it made me think about the difference between a pro and an amateur. It is also the same thing in business because you can either choose to be a pro and you can keep practicing and refining your skills to be a pro or you stay an amateur.
A pro is someone who will continue to improve the skills, someone who will hone their skills and someone who will invest in their development. An amateur is someone who will give up when things get tough. An amateur is someone that will only go to a certain level and then that‘s enough.
As I was playing this keyboard, I had this in my mind that I wanted to share it with you because I was thinking, okay, I can either be the amateur here now and I can just do as much as I can or I can aim to be a pro and I can keep practicing the same lines over and over again in the nights or in the mornings so that it‘s going to be amazing on the final recording, and it‘s the same in business.
So ask yourself the question, where in your business are you being a pro and where are you being an amateur? And where do you want to be more pro and where can you develop your skills more and refine everything that you do even more?
Of course, as always, we love sharing our insights here. If you find them beneficial, please feel free to share it with anyone also. Because for us here, it‘s really all about creating ripple effects of awesomeness. If you can help us spread our ripple effects, we are very happy about it. Thanks for watching.
