Christo: Hi there, guys. Welcome back to Basic Bananas. Today, we have a tip for you on how to position yourself as different among your competitors and how to make yourself pop out a bit more in your space. Basically, what this tip is, is look for the frustrations within your industry. Every industry has frustrations or fears. For example, people that might want to work with a lawyer but then they think that the lawyer is going to stop the clock they’re going to pick up the phone. Instead maybe you could position yourself as working more together with the person who are just squeezing in for money.
Another example I thought of too is that, for example, like if you’re selling products online, one of the tests which I have done, I’m putting increased security on the page and even increased logo saying secure on mobile devices, extra secure, everything that you enter is 100% confidential. Just by adding extra security, we’re actually tripled conversions for one of our sales pages because people are generally scared to put their credit cards online and on mobile devices and things, so look for the frustrations within your space and then we can …
Franziska: Yeah, and I’ve got another example besides this. This actually reminds me of a good example. We have pony bought in here and one example would be … This is actually an actual client that we’ve worked with is a tradesman. One of the frustrations that his park had in that industry was too many bump cracks. A building, for example, showing up on a building side or a plumber and then suddenly if you see bump cracks. Most customers don’t want to have bump cracks in their houses. They do, but not showing. What he did out of the frustration, he had to guarantee. What he said is in our business we don’t ever show bump cracks. Of course, it’s a little bit cheeky and it doesn’t work in every single business but for him, it was perfect because he is a little bit charismatic and he is a little bit cheeky and brave. That’s one thing that he did out of the frustration and he was starting to talk about his business in a good way.
That’s really how he can do it. The question that you could ask yourself, [inaudible 00:02:11] come back, is, “Hey, what’s a frustration in my industry and then how can you go about solving that frustration?” That’s today’s tip. If you want to share some of your ideas, we would love to hear from you.
Christo: Bye for now.
