Christo: Hey there and welcome back to Basic Bananas TV. In this tip, I want to share how we basically make change within a business and how to do incremental, little changes.
Having worked with hundreds of different businesses, you‘re probably well aware that we work with a lot of businesses, and over the years, like thousands of businesses now has Basic Bananas helping them to grow their businesses.
One of the most common things people say to us when they first talk to us is like, how can you help? Like, what‘s the biggest thing, what‘s the one big thing I can do to change my business right now to grow it rapidly? That would vary depending on the business, the response to that. It‘s a lot about incremental small movements because the big shift typically comes as a result of a lot of little movements. So we are implementing and upgrading marketing strategies and marketing message, the positioning in the market, the pricing, even how you package/you bundle services and products and then we‘re applying marketing strategies to get new attention. But it‘s typically not the one off thing we do overnight that transforms things and makes it rain and pour, beautiful new customers to your door endlessly. It‘s about these things we do in sequence.
So when we follow and create a marketing plan, we‘re doing different campaigns all in sequence so that they all work together to the point where it snowballs. So we‘re strategically doing things in a sequence. It‘s like you‘re getting your message out to the market, building trust and it gets to the point where you‘re really succeeding. I‘ve heard someone smart once say, “like a ship setting out on the ocean to cross.. heading out to sail into an open ocean. It only has to change its course a tiny, little fraction and it‘s going to end up in a very different destination.” The outcome over time becomes bigger and bigger and further and further from where you were. So even for example in your health, we actually do have people ask us about health tips all the time, which is definitely not my expectations, but my advice is typically, it‘s the incremental little changes. Two minutes more movement with your body today than you did yesterday, and with just these little changes and you‘re slightly more healthy today than you did yesterday, and just over time, we end up in a very different place than where we began.
So same goes with your running a business, you‘re growing and attracting more customers. It‘s doing these things in sequence and following a very strategic plan that we stick to so we haul that course which is going to lead growth for the business.
