At a recent keynote in Perth, Franziska dropped some serious truth bombs about The Courage Map and the not-so-mystical magic of intuition. Spoiler alert: It’s not just woo-woo—it’s backed by brain science!
Here’s the juicy stuff:
✅ What is Intuition, anyway?
It’s your unconscious mind working overtime—reading signals, past experiences, and patterns—then handing you insights on a silver platter (aka gut feelings).
Think of intuition as your internal GPS—it’s always running in the background, scanning patterns, analyzing past experiences, and picking up subtle signals. Then, boom—it delivers instant insight. That gut feeling? That’s your subconscious saying, “Hey, I’ve seen this before. Here’s what to do.”
Unlike overthinking, intuition is fast, fluid, and often freakishly accurate.
✅ The Brainy Bit (Yep, there’s science!)
Your intuition lives in the right side of your brain (the emotional party zone) and chats with the logical left side via a little bridge called the corpus callosum. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Now for the science. Your intuition hangs out mostly on the right side of your brain—a.k.a. the emotional, creative, intuitive party zone. Meanwhile, your left brain handles logic, language, and facts.
Here’s where it gets fascinating: these two hemispheres are connected by a bridge called the corpus callosum. This bridge lets your emotional insights (from the right) pass over to the logical side (on the left), so you can feel something instinctively and then make sense of it rationally.
And here’s a fun fact: research shows that women tend to have a thicker corpus callosum, allowing them to switch between emotional intuition and logical reasoning more quickly. Basically, they’re hardwired for stronger intuitive decision-making.
Albert Einstein himself once said (or was at least quoted saying):
“The only real valuable thing is intuition.”
Smart guy.
✅ Marketing Meets Intuition
People buy with their hearts and justify with their heads. So if your marketing speaks to emotion first? Boom—you’re on the right track.
What does this have to do with marketing?
Everything.
Here’s the deal: people buy with emotion and justify with logic. That means your customers make decisions based on feelings first, then back it up with “logical” reasons. It’s not manipulation—it’s human nature.
If your marketing speaks only to the rational brain, you’re missing the magic. Instead, aim for emotional connection first. Tell a story. Paint a picture. Spark a feeling. That’s how you create resonance—and sales.
Your next move?
Start trusting those hunches. Your gut’s smarter than you think.
