Franziska: Hi there! I’m just about to jump on our Helpdesk session here where we review campaigns that our members are doing and one question that I have here today is on a home page; to review a home page. So what I thought before I jump on the call, I would do is give you six real practical things you can do to improve your home page. And the first one is well first of all what’s the purpose of a homepage so the purpose of your homepage is to inform, to educate, to generate leads and to connect with your customers and prospects. Now the six things. So the first one is look at your homepage and think about whether you can add some sort of a lead magnet a place where you can generate leads and that can be done either through –
maybe offering a free quote, or get in touch with us or offering a voucher on~ maybe discount on the first purchase; anything that can move your prospects into your marketing system. Secondly, think about the user experience and especially think about – what is the customer journey and ask yourself the question: what do you want them to do next on your homepage? What’s the next action you want them to take and then lead them there with your copy, with your imagery. So this can be by saying start here or download this guide to start off the journey with us or call this number to get started. Whatever your next step is. Number three is this is the biggest mistake most homepage~ homepages have which is they always talk about themselves. Businesses talk about themselves or their business all day long and that’s not the way you want to do it. What you want to do is you want to talk about them, the customers. So when you write your copy, your text for your homepage make sure it’s talking about them. The people that you want to work with don’t make it all about you. Number four~ four is make it easy to be contacted. Don’t hide your contact details. Don’t make it hard for someone that comes to your website and go ‘where’s the contact button?’ Make it easy, add your phone number or your email address or both into your header. Number five is connect your social media channels. If you have social media channels, if you’re using any of the channels out there, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, add them on your homepage so that people can connect with you there too. And the last one, number six, is if especially if you have multiple products, and especially if you have an e-commerce website, make sure on your homepage, you list some of your best-selling or some of your recommended products, and the reason why is that if you have a lot of products out there if you have a lot of offers, it can be confusing or challenging for your customers to decide where to go next. So make a suggestion by recommending a product or, telling them what’s the best selling product or service on your homepage. Cool? Those are the six things that I wanted to share with you right now. These are very practical, you can implement them straight away, and do it right away. And as always, if you know someone who would benefit from these really practical, short video tips, and they’re sort of like the weekly booster, the weekly injection into your business, then feel free to share this video with them too. And make sure you subscribe to our channel. If you want more of this stuff, you can go over to basicbananas.com and we have a ton of epic resources for you available there.
