Christo: Hey there guys and welcome back! In this tip, I wanted to share a common question or the answer to a common question which we‘ll get from Val here. Val‘s from Basic Bananas USA.
The question is when‘s the best time to post on Instagram? And I guess, should I be on Instagram in the first place, for my business? So a common thing that we‘re getting, should I be on Instagram at all for my business? Is it worth it? And when is the best time to post is a common question. So over to Val from Basic Bananas USA in the house. What do you think?
Val: Well, first of all, YES. You should be on Instagram. Right now, it‘s free for businesses to be on it and there are over 800 million active users on Instagram. So it‘s a super easy way to show off your brand personality and make a personal connection with your clients or potential clients. The downside is about 70% of posts don‘t actually get seen. So you really want to focus on a good time to post. So, as a general rule, weekday mornings are the best time to post. That‘s because most people wake up and immediately check their phones. So you get an opportunity to kind of show them a little bit about your business in like a non-committal way and right before they are distracted by other things in their lives.
There‘s also a lot of people that are commuting to work and when they are commuting, they are on their phones. You might see this , that‘s what they‘re doing. So, yeah, the general rule Thursday, Fridays are awesome times to post and 5 am. Yeah, 5 am. You don‘t have to wake up at 5 am. You can get a scheduler to help do that for you. But it‘s kind of nice to be the first thing that they see and the first thing that‘s on their minds. And if you do have a business page, you can take it a step further and use the Instagram Insights. So you just click on the top little metrics there and then you click on audience and then you scroll all the way to the bottom and it will actually show you the times and days that your followers are most active. So you can kind of work around that.
I would say don‘t forget that there are seasonal things that do affect user behaviors like holidays and just seasonal changes, in general. So it‘s a good idea to always test and measure. So check out on your posting, see how it‘s working and then try a different time another time.
Christo: Beautiful. There‘s nothing quite like looking at the insights to just see. It gives you the answers. The numbers don‘t lie, people. So this is straight. Val‘s a bit of a ninja on Insta and had amazing success online with other business ventures and things. So it‘s really cool to share that info. It‘s awesome and generous of her to share that info today. So thank you very much. Nice work! It was a high five, don‘t leave me hanging.
