Christo: Hi there! Welcome back to Basic Bananas TV. In this episode, I want to show you why most marketing just simply doesn’t work. So most strategies people think of when they think marketing, they think of things like advertisements, could be like offline advertisements, like a magazine ad, or a newspaper ad, or a sign; or, online advertisements like Google ads, Facebook ads, Linkedin ads, Youtube ads, SEO work—all of these activities that are really top of the funnel marketing activities. Most people go for marketing strategy-to-sale, marketing strategy-to-sale, and it’s looking to get those immediate wins, those quick-kind of quick-kill sales. Now, the reality is how we make our marketing strategies work. All of those top of the funnel marketing strategies are by having a lot behind the scenes. I’ll just flash up just a couple of our funnels as an example. It’ll be hard to see but just to show you as an example; on here what you’re looking at is a whole funnel— behind~ there’s a series of top of the funnel strategies but then all of this activity that happens behind the scenes is actually for one of our $27 sales. Now that’s a lot of behind the scenes it’s just the top of the funnel that moves people through, there are other funnels. We actually have about 30 different funnels for different things throughout Basic Bananas. Even something as simple as someone looking to buy a book and what happens next, and next, next. Now if we don’t have all of these behind the scenes funnels operating, those top of the funnel activities that most people think of as typical marketing strategies won’t see a positive return. That from the ad to the sale we have to have all these other processes in place to maintain relationships – get a higher lifetime value per customer. People might buy the next thing or on sales, upsells, downsells, whatever you want to call it. However, you need all this stuff in place because also people go through a decision making period where they see the thing the first time maybe from the ad but they might not be ready to purchase for two or three weeks; even two or three months, sometimes even two or three years. So you need to make sure they choose you no matter how long it takes. So I just wanted to paint that picture because often people come to us with the question: I just need help with Google ads, or I just need help with Facebook ads. And the reality is that’s just one ingredient in making all of your marketing work. It’s like one tiny little part of the whole marketing matrix. So I trust this video has been beneficial.
