Fraziska: Hi and welcome back!
Today, I am here with one of our incredible social media strategists, Hanna. What we‘re going to share with you today is Hanna‘s top tips when it comes to creating content for Instagram. So, basically, how you can create different types of content pieces that are engaging for your audience.
Hanna: Alright. So I want to share with you my 8 tips for content on Instagram.
So number one would be featuring your products or services. For that, just make sure that the photo is well lit and it looks like it‘s really good quality that will let people be more attracted to your products and services if the photo they see is good quality.
Then another big one is behind the scenes or content of your photos of your team. So you want to show who‘s working in the company. What are the processes within the company, whenever there are special celebrations or special occasion like a product launch or something like that. Go ahead and take photos and feature it on your Instagram feed. Behind the scenes is a really big one that people love. It works really well for Basic Bananas, as well. We do it all the time. So that‘s a really good one to do.
Franziska: We get a lot of engagement on our team photos. So check out Basic Bananas, too. We always get a ton of engagement when we have a picture of a team member or when we have a celebration here. You and Martina take amazing pictures and we always get super high engagement on that.
Hanna: Absolutely. People love that very much.
Now, the big one that gets really good engagement for Basic Bananas, as well is inspirational quotes. Now, what you want to think about is what kind of quotes will be inspirational for your followers. So what we do is just for business owners kind of inspirational quotes. So that‘s a really good one as well.
Another one would be lifestyles. So anything that can be related to your target audience lifestyle. For example, when it comes towards the weekend or what else have we done in the past?
Franziska: Number 4, lifestyle is sort of like, I know that you and Martina will post the photos of like a surfer that‘s surfing or gliding or surfing into the weekend. A bit more sort of lifestyle, casual stuff. Sort of wishing, “oh, it‘s Monday” let‘s get back into it with a cool, beautiful picture that fits into your theme.
Hanna: Absolutely.
Another one that is obviously really really good for your business is featuring your clients using your products or using your services. You want to show that people are actually buying your products and services and that people are having a great time doing so.
Franziska: Exactly.
Hanna: So if you have anyone that has a success story, or that has been loving your product, go ahead and maybe ask them if you can take a photo with them and the product and feature on your Instagram feed. That‘s a good one.
Franziska: Amazing. I love it. Then number 6.
Hanna: Number 6 would be educational. We use this for Ocean Lovers which is our product-based company. So for example anything in relation to how to be more eco-friendly or what is happening in the world news-wise in terms of the environment. So that would be a big one if that relates to your business. It doesn‘t work necessarily for every kind of business. But for something like Ocean Lovers which is all about ocean awareness, it works really well.
Franziska: Exactly. So anything educational for our branding agency, of course, we share a lot of content about branding, educational stuff on branding, on fonts and things like that.
Hanna: Yes, that‘s another one that I was actually going to mention on the next tip.
Franziska: Number 7, yep.
Hanna: So kind of appreciation posts. Martina who runs the Business Hood Instagram page shares sometimes fonts or logos of other companies, or big brands that we appreciate. It‘s kind of like a bit of inspiration but yes, appreciation post, I would say.
Franziska: Exactly, and then the last one.
Hanna: The last tip I want to share is content. So whether you have a new blog post up or a new podcast episode or if you‘ve been featured on an article. For example, Franziska had an article in Sydney Morning Herald recently and we did feature that on our Instagram page as well. Anything like that would be a really good thing to feature as well and it makes you look a lot more credible as well.
Franziska: Excellent. Thank you so much.
