So in this tip, I want to go through, well, a common question that we get is just getting more money in the business and often, we‘re always helping people to get more leads and more sales through more customers and more inquiries and things. So, in this one, we‘re going to flip it around and go also, it‘s worth looking at your expenses.
So, one way to increase your profitability, it‘s a tricky word, tongue twister, but, always growing a business in terms of revenue is excellent. But sometimes, we make a business more efficient by even if it‘s plateau – it‘s the same revenue but we‘re getting more profit for the same amount of effort or ultimately, less effort to get a bigger return.
So what I owe you to do from this tip is that we look for these little, kind of profit-deactivator things like little profit areas. So, every activity, consider every activity you do in your business as an expense and consider everything you purchase as an expense. So look at both areas – activities, and ask yourself, can these result in growth for the business? If not, let‘s try and prioritise growth in terms of activities. Same with purchases. So you look at every purchase and go, can this result in growth? Yep? do it first. Or let‘s look at the other expenses and see if we can reduce those.
So what I mean by that is look at suppliers, look at anywhere you spend money. It‘s good to review that maybe once a quarter or once every 6 months, at least, to look at all your expenses and see if you can get better deals from suppliers and things like that because sometimes, that makes the difference in your profit.
