[Christo] Welcome back to Basic Bananas TV. In this video tip, I want to share the importance of building a brand personality. Now, the reason we as marketers give a brand a personality~ well think about it, like products, services, they don’t have a personality. We give them a personality as marketers because humans connect, and build a relationship with personalities. We feel a bond with a personality. So it’s super duper important. When you think about all the things we love, like, you might have love Jerry Seinfeld, the TV show Seinfeld, and you love the personalities Often, it’s the personalities we remember more so than the actual stories themselves. So, going to go around the team and ask them, you know, what personalities have you loved throughout your life? Basically, let’s hear what they have to say.

[Julia] Yoda. Because Yoda is or represents to me just being full of wisdom, and he’s an elder. So he’s obviously… even though he looks like a baby, he’s aged, and I feel there’s lots of wisdom that we can gain from all the people and he reminds me of being mindful in life and in business. And yeah, I just like Yoda and other people like him, too. Because there’s now a baby Yoda series, you should check it out.

[Martina] Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, because he stands out from being so unique and over-the-top nerd, pretty much.

[Liesl] I’m going to go with the series Ozark, that we’re watching at the moment and Marty Byrde, love how he tries to stay very strategic, and dig his way; most way out of all of these holes that he keeps getting himself into. But always tries to keep people safe as possible. So he’s always very mindful of his acts. So that’s, that’s my one.

[Ash] My favourite character would be Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street Just the craziness he presented.

[Franziska] One of my favorite characters is Santiago and he is in The Alchemist book written by Paulo Coelho. And the reason why I love this character is because he is a shepherd from a town in Spain, in the south of Spain. And he’s a young guy and he’s just got this exploring, curious mind. So he goes out there to go in and find the magic. And then at the end, he realises that the magic was always at his doorstep and he’s got this crazy beautiful mind.

[Christo] And now let’s hear from our virtual team.

[Haidee] My favourite character is Elektra, actually characters. I have two, so Elektra and Black Widow. I don’t know. I just love them. They’re so cool. They’re strong. They’ve been through a lot with their family but yeah. Anyway, that’s it.

[Steff] I’m a big fan of The Vampire Diaries and all the cast, I love all the cast. But then my most favourite one is Bonnie Bennett. She’s not a vampire, but she’s the witch one and she’s the most underrated cast among them. But yet, she’s the most powerful witch in TVD-verse is what they say.

[Denise] I’d say, my favourite character is Vi from League of Legends because she’s a total badass.

[Jordan] My favourite character is Fran Fine from The Nanny.

[Christo] Well, there we go. Turns out that people do remember their favourite characters and we’re all drawn to certain characters. Even your favourite movies, you may want to watch because of the characters in them or sometimes you’re addicted to a soapy or a series because of the characters that keep you coming back. So important lesson in marketing, create that brand character and amplify it through all of your touch points. Hope you’ve enjoyed this video tip and we’ll see you on the next one.
