Franziska: Hi and welcome back to Basic Bananas TV. A few weeks ago, I was speaking at a conference and I was also attending some of the sessions from some of the other speakers that were fantastic. At breakfast, one of my friends asked me, “Hey Franziska, what are some of your key highlights? What did you learn?” It really make me think about this one question I used to ask myself a lot. The question is the one thing. What’s the one thing I have learned right now that I can take away with me and implement straight away.

Sometimes we go to conferences or events or we do these things in life where we learn stuff from but then we go back home or back into the business and we find it a little bit overwhelming to implement everything. Sometimes that leads to almost doing nothing. The question what’s the one thing is very helpful to just really think about, “Hey, what have I just learned and what’s the one thing I can do right now?” This question you can also apply to anything, any area in business. It could be what’s the one thing I could do right now to create a really good team environment? What’s the one thing, right now, I could do to get new clients? What’s the one thing, right now, I could do to increase my sales? What’s the one thing I could do right now to create more happiness for myself?

Asking the question, “What’s the one thing?” really helps you chunk down a big thing into tangibles and into actionable things. Try it on for yourself and maybe try it on for a few weeks and then let me know how it goes. Let me know. Ask yourself the question the one thing in all areas. You can even ask the question when something doesn’t go very well. You can ask yourself, “Hey, what’s the one thing I have learned from this challenging situation?” If something is going really well, you’re succeeding at something really well, you could ask, “Hey, what’s the one thing I’m learning from this success right now?”

I’d love to actually hear from you. I’d love to hear from you how you applied the question and also what’s the impact of using this question? You can do yourself below the video. I love reading your comments and replying to them. Thanks again for watching and hopefully see you on the next video.
